![]() ![]() When i take my heavy VirtualGroup 'VG2' comprised of the 3 heavies (,, ), 569000 Articles 57 Mio Article Parts Mem usage is consistant across multiple tries and different GUI methods of Deactivations. Same if i do it all over again, starting with NL closed and in the end do "DEACTIVATE ALL".) still stays that high. Then i DE-Activate VG1 again (Usenetmanager, rightclick, deactivate selected), it shows all the deactivation popups, VG1 is deactivated (ActiveGroup=Empty).Īnd it REALLY is deactivated, beacuse when i close NL, closing down takes <1sec it doesnt deactivate/save any group. Then i activate VG1 (Usenetmanager, rightclick, activate selected), it activates them (Activegroup-Tab shows 75000/141000). Then it fluctuates around 43-46MBytes, quite stable, would stay like that for 1 hour if not touched. Then i start Newsleecher, it starts the queue, connects & maxes my DL-bandwidth. When i stop Newsleecher, i have relatively normal commit charge of 579M/3943M (i have 2gigRAM,2gigVirtualMem) (ProcessExplorer of NTInternals shows the same results) Lets take my VirtualGroup 'VG1', 9 single Groups in it, (a.b.barbarella, a.b.divx, a.b.japanese-cimema, a.b.mom, a.b.movies, a.b.m.divx, a.b.m.d.repost, a.b.m.xvid, a.b.m.divx)ġ41.000 Articles, 7Mio parts (according to Group information)Īll mem usages according to taskmgr.exe. Situation: my queue has about 2000 file entries (mixed together from ALL of my 250 different groups), lets say 12 hours proposed so nothing exorbitant there Newsleecher seems to have some memory leakage problems, at least here on my installation. I updated to Newsleecher v3.0b2 (had all the 2.x betas/finals update without uninstall, no problems apart from the ones listed below) i paid for NL inluding Supersearch.įirst of all, i am just trying to be constructive here to help Spiril find & iron out some bugs longwinded as my post my seem - im not trying to whine and bitch. I use Giganews unlimited (with NL i use 6 of the now 10 possible connections, each of which would max about 150KByte/Sec when not hitting ADSL-DLspeed-limit). I connect with a 5MbitUP/768kbitDOWN - ADSL. My cacheV3/groups dir is about 13 gigs (retention configured to 60 days + 30% wastespace) I have about 250 subscribed groups, grouped into about 25 VirtualGroups/Categories. NIS2005Prof (only FW active, of course Autoprotect=Off)Īppart from NL, No other apps running than explorer, taskmgr, icq & firefox (apart from background Steam, hypersnap and daemon) Intel P-IV-3.0Ghz-Hyperthreading System, 2Gig RAM Fresh Install, perfectly stable, done about 1 month ago (not some old unstable broken 2 yearold installation) SP2 (English), patches uptodate with WindowsUpdate. ![]()
